SARAJEVO, May 2 (Hina) - President of the presidency of the
Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegovic, and the
commander of the Army of Bosnia-Herzegovina, General Rasim Delic,
visited today the Brcko free zone under control of the B-H army and
the Croatian Defence Council (whereas the town of Brcko on the
right bank of the Sava river in northern Bosnia is under control of
the Serb aggressors. This area is the narrowest part of a corridor
linking Serb-held areas in Bosnia-Herzegovina to Serbia proper. The
Bosnian Serb forces have been recently amassing on this battlefield
their artillery pulled back from the exclusion zone around
Gorazde.) President Izetbegovic and Gen. Delic visited today the
first defence lines of the B-H army and HVO units on the Brcko
battlefield, broadcast Sarajevo radio on Monday evening.
President Izetbegovic pointed out "good organized coexistence
of the Moslems and Croats in that municipality". Gen. Delic stated
that "Brcko is a key to the war in B-H", adding that "We shall do
our utmost to prepare in a best way for the crucial fighting with
the Serb aggressors."
