BJELOVAR, May 3 (Hina) - Croatian authorities warned of the
deteriorating security situation in UN Sector West at a meeting
with UNPROFOR representatives in Bjelovar on Tuesday.
The security situation in the Pakrac area was satisfactory
only for a short while after the March 29 cease-fire agreement was
signed. According to the Pakrac police department, in the last ten
days armed provocations from the Serb-occupied area have been
recorded as well attempted terrorist attacks on the Pakrac-Pozega
road.
The Serb side was frustrating UNPROFOR's attempts to arrange a
meeting of Croatian authorities and local Serbs to discuss civilian
issues.
