ZAGREB, April 5 (Hina) - Implementation of ceasefire agreement
signed by Croatian delegation and rebel Serbs on March 30 is going
very well, said on Tuesday UNPROFOR Chief-of-Staff general Charles
Ritchie at news conference in Zagreb based U.N. headquarters.
Since this morning we have clear confirmation that heavy
weapons will be pulled out in line with the agreement, said general
Ritchie. Weapons that will be not pulled out is going to be
collected in warehouses under U.N. protection, he added.
The agreement predicts withdrawal of mortars and antiaircraft
guns to 10 km and tanks and artillery weapons to 20 km from line of
disangagement.
General Ritchie said work on establishment of separation line
is continued and UNPROFOR has got mine-fields maps. New crossing
points were opened in sector East - Vinkovci and Nustar - and in
sector North - Glinska Poljana and Vojnovac. Crossing points in
sector South - Zemunik, Jasenica and Peruca - are not opened yet
only because of technical problems, said general Ritchie.
