CONGRESS OF CROATS OF BOSNIAN KRAJINA AND WESTERN BOSNIA

ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - The Congress of the Croats from the Bosnian Krajina and Western Bosnia finished this evening in Zagreb by adoption of the Declaration and appointment of its seven deputies to the Croatian National Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The participants in the Congress expressed their support to unpartitioned Bosnia-Herzegovina as a whole, and to cessation of the war as well as to punishment of war criminals. They advocated many-sided cooperation with Moslems-Bosniacs. A working committee was particularly given the commitment to undertake endeavours in the search of Marijan Vjestica, a deputy to the Parliament of Bosnia-Herzegovina, whose whereabouts has been unknown since September 2, 1992, when the Serb authorities had taken him out of a buss of the Red Cross at the bridge in Gradiska. The Congress also forwarded the letter of gratitude to the Bishop of the Banja Luka Diocese, Dr. Franjo Komarica, for his great efforts in saving the Croats in that region of Bosnia. The unanimously adopted Declaration proceeds from that the regions of the Bosnian Krajina and Western Bosnia are the historical, cultural and political area within the whole of Bosnia- Herzegovina, where Croats, Serbs, Moslems and many other national minorities live together, and whose partition is impossible and unacceptable since it causes tragedies with far-reaching consequences. The Congress therefore demands the immediate cessation of the Serb aggression on Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as of the tragic conflict between the its victims. No agreements can be implemented without the unity of all the Croats in B-H, stated also this Declaration. It supports decisions of the Congress of the Croats of B-H, held in Sarajevo on 6 February 1994. All seven Congress's representatives but one to the Croatian National Council of Bosnia-Herzegovina are also members of the regional branches of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of the Bosnian Krajina and Western Bosnia. 052209 MET mar 94
