ZAGREB, March 5 (Hina) - The Congress of the Croats of the Bosnian
Krajina and Western Bosnia (now mostly under control of the Serb
forces) has commenced today in Zagreb. At the Congress the Croats
of these Bosnian areas are to express their interest as regards the
future establishment of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Besides the deputies to the Congress, many guests, among whom
the chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, Stipe
Mesic, and the chairman of the Croatian Cultural Society of
"Napredak" from Sarajevo, Dr. Franjo Topic, are present at the
Congress.
A declaration is expected to be adopted and the chairmanship
of the Congress is to be appointed as well as its representatives
to the Croatian National Council, established by the Congress of
the Croats, held on February 6 in Sarajevo.
The expelled and resettled Croats from the towns of Banja
Luka, Prijedor and Bosanska Gradiska are also attending to the
Congress. In the above-mentioned towns there were about 100,000
Croats before the Serb aggression, whereas today less than a half
of them remain there, according to the statistics of the Catholic
Church high dignitaries.
