PAKRAC, May 26 (Hina) - Representatives of 32 foreign humanitarian
orgnisations today toured the newly-liberated Western Slavonia
region, visiting the towns of Okucani, Jasenovac and Pakrac.
The humanitarians discussed needs and forms of assistance with
local authorities and Government officials. They were particularly
interested in the reconstruction of schools, medical facilities and
infrastructure.
Reconstruction Ministry officials outlined the ministry's
reconstruction and return project, which was being implemented in
western Slavonia. Under this project, the Government is to finance
the rehabilitation of about 2,000 homes of refugees.
The tour was organised by the Croatian Government Office for
Displaced Persons and Refugees.
