CARDINAL KUHARIC RETURNS FROM UKRAINE

ZAGREB, May 24 (Hina/IKA) - The Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Franjo Kuharic, yesterday returned from Ukraine, the Zagreb-based Catholic News Agency IKA reported. Kuharic had visited Ukraine as a Pope's personal envoy, to mark 400th anniversary of the Brest-Litovsk Union and 350th anniversary of the Uzhord Union. There he addressed the local Greek Catholic believers, expressing admiration to their efforts to survive. Accompanied by Greek Catholic Bishop of Krizevci, north Croatia, Slavomir Miklos, Cardinal Kuharic visited the ruins of the Uzhord church, and the grave of the Ukrainian martyr, the Archbishop of Lwow, Joseph Slipiy.
