PARIS, May 8 (Hina) - A great celebration to mark the 50th
anniversary of the anti-Fascist Victory in Europe was held in Paris
on Monday with a highest number of participants.
France sent invitations to representatives of 80 countries,
either direct participants in World War Two or states whose
citizens took part in the Allies' troops.
Croatia's President Franjo Tudjman is among 60 presidents or
premiers who are attending the Paris celebration.
All world leaders accompanied the present and coming French
presidents, Francois Mitterand and Jacques Chirac, at laying down a
joint wreath in front of the monument to an unknown hero.
They were present at a military review and parade of 2,500
French soldiers and standard-bearers who bore the flags of
countries-participants in the V-E Day parade through the triumphal
arch.
Officer of Croatia's President's Guards, Kresimir Hlaj, bore
the Croatian flag.
After the celebration at Etoille, the participants at V-E Day
celebration, were guests at the dinner given by Francois
Mitterand.
Croatia's delegation includes President Tudjman and
Ambassadors Janko Vranitzany-Dobrinovic and Branko Salaj.
