ANKARA, April 10 (Hina) - The Croatian Army headquarters chief-of-
staff, General Janko Bobetko, is staying in Turkey for a three-day
official visit, at an invitation of the Turkish Army headquarters
chief-of-staff, General Ismail Karaday.
Generals Bobetko and Karaday said the crisis hotspots in the
region, caused by the Serb aggressive hegemony and territorial
pretensions, posed a real threat to the European security. They
believed that the greater unity between the countries in the region
and the international community was necessary to ensure a political
settlement to the crisis.
The two generals considered the continuing cooperation between
Croatian and Turkish armed forces.
General Bobetko spoke to his host about the importance of the
new UN forces' mandate for the further development of relations in
Croatia and relations in the entire region as well.
The two Generals emphasized the significance of better
political and military coordination as the support to the lasting
settlement of the crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina and to the
establishment of a balanced new order in the region.
