ZAGREB, April 5 (Hina) - The Croatian Government was planning to
submit five to six key bills, including the Privatization Bill and
the Investment Fund and Securities Bill, to the next session of the
House of Representatives this month.
Speaking in a Croatian TV current affairs show last night,
Croatian Prime Minister, Nikica Valentic, said the government was
planning a radical cut and make some order in firms and banks that
were unable to operate under market laws, said Valentic.
"Politically, diplomatically and militarily Croatia is
stronger today than it had been two years ago," Foreign Minister
Mate Granic said in the same show.
"UN Security Council Resolution 981 has created a firm
political framework for negotiations," he said.
The implementation of Resolution 981, the control of Croatian
borders and creating conditions for a peaceful reintegration of
occupied Croatian territories and the return of refugees, were the
most important tasks in the next period, according to Granic.
Deputy Prime Minister, Jure Radic, defined the top priorities
as the development and reconstruction of war-torn areas.
He also said that the government was preparing a wide
reconstruction program, which included the rebuilding of damaged
houses to ensure the return of 41.000 refugees.
