ZAGREB, March 28 (Hina) - Croatia's Culture Minister remains in
office after a failed vote of no confidence today in the House of
Representatives.
Opposition members demanded the vote of no confidence in
Zlatko Vitez but they failed to secure a majority of votes after
debate.
The Opposition proposed a vote of no confidence in Vitez over
his statement to a Croatian Radio and Television Council session
which offended Parliament.
Vitez had described Parliament as 'a henhouse' and said 'it
discussed nonsense'.
"We find his statement inappropriate but not offensive, and it
will be the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) which decides when to
dismiss ministers" deputy House speaker Vladimir Seks said at the
end of today's debate.
