SERB "BORROW" TWENTY TANKS, FIVE CANNONS FROM UN STOREHOUSE

ZAGREB, March 23 (Hina) - Serb irregulars today took 20 (twenty) T- 33 tanks, five cannons and three armoured vehicles from UN storage areas in Sector East. UN spokesman Christopher Gunnes said the Serbs needed the weaponry for a three-day military exercise and would return it in a few days. Serb irregulars violated the cease-fire seven times yesterday, Gunnes said. He described the "tense" situation in Sector South as a "constant source of anxiety for UNPROFOR." He confirmed that the Croatian army and Bosnian Croat forces liberated an area at the southernmost end of Sector South. This "problem" should be solved, Gunnes said during a meeting with Croatian officials. UN Special Representative, Yasushi Akashi, met Montenegrin President, Momir Bulatovic, in Tivat yesterday. Akashi then trekked off to the southernmost Croatian peninsula of Prevlaka and on to Dubrovnik in order to discuss the continuation of UNPROFOR's presence there. Gunnes confirmed that three Pakistani peace-keepers died in a traffic accident yesterday, while five were wounde, as their cars dived into the sea.
