VIENNA, March 15 (Hina) - A meeting to mark the signing of the
Washington accords on establishing a Moslem-Croat Federation in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, ended in Vienna last night.
"In order to strengthen the Bosnian Federation it is necessary
to transfer the authority from both the Bosnian Republic government
and the government of Herzeg-Bosnia, to Federal bodies," Contact
Group representative Michale Steiner said.
A realistic option was to preserve Bosnia-Herzegovina as a
union of two entities, the Bosnian Federation and the Bosnian Serb
entity, he said.
US Coordinator for Assistance to the Bosnian Federation,
Daniel Sewer, said the international community saw the Federation
as a reconstruction of the multiethnic community, adding that the
Contact Group peace plan for Bosnia would not be altered.
Croatian Foreign Miniser, Mate Granic, said Croatia was the
Federation's "first friend." This was the only realistic attitude
to Bosnia, which should be supported without reserve, Granic said.
