ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - Following is the full text of a
statement by the Presidential Office on today's talks between
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and his Indonesian counterpart
Suharto.
"The President of the Republic of Croatia, Franjo Tudjman,
and his wife today received the President of the Republic of
Indonesia, Suharto, and Mrs Tien Suharto, accompanied by an
Indonesian government delegation. Outside the Presidential Palace
they were also welcomed by a guard of honour.
Presidents Tudjman and Suharto talked behind closed doors
for nearly two hours. The greatest attention was devoted to
further successful development of bilateral relations between
Croatia and Indonesia.
Also under discussion were the causes of the crisis in
Bosnia-Herzegovina and its possible solutions.
President Tudjman elaborated Croatian views on the
reintegration of temporarily occupied Croatian territories,
emphasizing Croatia's cooperation with the international
community in order to peacefully resolve the problem of
temporarily occupied Croatian areas.
The talks also focused on the interests of the international
community and nonaligned countries in cooperation with Croatia
and in a peaceful resolution of the crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Croatian and Indonesian government delegation also met
in the Presidential Palace.
The Croatian delegation included Foreign Minister Mate
Granic, Chief Presidential Adviser on Economic Affairs Franjo
Greguric, Transport Minister Ivica Mudrinic, Economic Minister
Nadan Vidosevic, Assistant Foreign Minister Smiljan Simac and
Presidential Foreign Policy Adviser Zeljko Matic.
The Indonesian delegation was represented by Foreign
Minister Ali Alatas, Secretary of State Moerdiono, Assistant
Chairman of the Nonaligned Movement Ambassador Nana Sutresna,
Ambassadors Pringgodigdo and Wisnumurti, Foreign Ministry
officials Ibrahim and Hardjito, and Assistant Secretary of State
Soedarno.
Special attention was devoted to bilateral political and
economic issues.
The two delegations supported the improvement of cooperation
and deepening of relations between the two friendly countries.
They stressed a number of economic opportunites which could
be of mutual benefit.
The Croatian army Chief-of-Staff, General Janko Bobetko,
discussed military issues with the commander in chief of the
Indonesian armed forces, General Feisal Tanjung," the statement
concluded.
