BIHAC, ZAGREB, March 10 (Hina) - The Bosnian Embassy in Zagreb this
evening sent HINA a statement by the Bihac-based Bosnian army 5th
Corps, saying that they "had no reliable information as yet" on the
reported arrest of HVO (Croatian Defence Council) Maj. Gen.
Vladimir Santic.
According to the Bosnian Croat defence ministry, Santic was
arrested in Bihac at 1.20 am yesterday by members of the Bosnian
Moslem-led government army 502nd brigade.
"A joint commission including representatives of the Bosnian
army, Interior Ministry, HVO headquarters and the District
Attorney's office has been set up to conduct an expedient
investigation," the 5th Corps said.
"So far, we have ascertained that the general's disappearance
took place under unknown circumstances between the 8th and the 9th
of March, most probably from the vicinity of the Sedra Hotel," the
statement said.
