ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - "I am going to warn about the problem of
Croatia's occupied areas and human rights violations there, about
the ethnic cleansing and the problem of missing persons," Croatian
Foreign Minister Mate Granic told Croatian radio before taking off
for Geneva, where he is to address a session of the UN Human Rights
Commission tomorrow.
"I will stress the need for reintegrating the occupied areas
into Croatia's legal system as soon as possible," Granic said,
adding that he would detail Croatia's initiative for a peaceful
reintegration of the occupied area and repeat that there was no
going back on the decision to end the UNPROFOR mandate.
Asked about the ethnic cleansing in the occupied areas during
the UN mandate, Granic said that over 12,000 Croats and non-
Serbshad been expelled from their homes during the UN mandate,
while over 600 were killed and countless others raped, robbed or
harrassed.
