DUBROVNIK, March 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Navy and Air Force today
carried out an exercise in anti-submarine and mine-sweeping
action in the southern Adriatic.
The mine-sweeping exercise brought into play apparatus that
could be used by civilian vessels.
Anti-submarine combat was simultaneously performed.
The exercise also used MI 24 helicopters, which had proved
very efficient in combat against enemy submarines. Assisted by
patrol boats and detection appliances manufactured in Croatia,
helicopter crews practiced launching western torpedoes.
Gun-boats equipped with Swedish RBS 15 missiles were used
for covering forces engaged in anti-submarine and minesweeping
operations. A landing mine-layer practiced laying mines to trap
enemy vessels.
