SARAJEVO, March 5 (Hina) - The tramway service in Sarajevo was
functioning again after a two-day stop caused by Serb sniper
attacks.
UNPROFOR has taken additional security measures to protect the
citizens from sniping. UN armoured vehicles and anti-sniper crews
have been positioned at strategic points, particularly around the
Holiday Inn hotel.
The peace-keepers also planned to station several crews at the
Serb Grbavica stronghold, which was predictably vetoed by Serb
police.
French UN peace-keepers responded to Serb fire from Grbavica
three times yesterday.
UN monitors have counted 357 armed incidents in the Sarajevo
area in the past 24 hours.
