SARAJEVO, Feb 28 (Hina) - A great number of armed incidents at
least 600 were jeopardising the cease-fire in Sarajevo but UN
peace-keepers still claimed that most were "isolated occurrences."
The most serious of these random incidents, according to
UNPROFOR, included yesterday's attack on a tramway which wounded
four people, and the explosion of a mortar shell which killed a
woman.
A UN spokesman confirmed that small arms fire was opened at a
relief aircraft.
French peace-keepers quickly returned fire from heavy machine-
guns but apparently not quick enough as there were several more
random incidents around the airport.
Nonetheless, the airport was still open and was used by 17
aircraft. Twenty-five flights were scheduled for today.
