ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - The Croatian government at a session today
cancelled the decision for a 30 per cent increase in the price of
tenants wanting to purchase public apartments.
Conditions under which public apartments can be bought will be
valid until 1 June, after which a new decision on prices is to be
expected.
This was the last opportunity for tenants to buy their
apartments under such favorable conditions after June 1.
The government also adopted several regulations and decisions
to try to put the banking system in order, restrict budgetary fund
spending and regulations linked with the welfare of the war
victims.
At today's session the government fixed the price of 7,000
Kunas for working permits in Germany. These funds are to go into
the budgetarty fund and where they will be allocated to finance
housing construction for war victims.
Valentic estimated that in the two years the government would
have collected enough funds to build 200 standard apartments.
