GRANIC MEETS MAZOWIECKI IN GENEVA

Autor:
GENEVA, Feb 27 (Hina) - Croatian foreign minister Mate Granic, currently participating in the work of the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva, today met UN human rights rapporteur Tadeusz Mazowiecki. They talked about the peace process in Croatia after it decided to cancel the UNPROFOR mandate, and the situation in occupied Croatian areas and in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Granic stressed the problem of Croats who had gone missing or had been taken prisoner in Serbian aggression against Croatia. He also called for the protection of ethnic Croats in Banja Luka (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Boka Kotorska (Montenegro) and Vojvodina (Serbia). Granic delivered a document on human rights in Croatia to the UN secretary general's commissioner, Jose Ayala-Lassa. The document was also distributed to all participants in the this year's session of the Human Rights Commission. (hina) mm vm 271719 MET feb 95
