ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - 'Croatia supports the peace initiative of
European Union foreign ministers on the need to recognize all
countries emerging from the territory of the former Yugoslavia, and
in this context, the initiative for a summit meeting of the three
presidents, Tudjman, Izetbegovic and Milosevic,' Croatian Foreign
Minister told Croatian television this evening.
He said the initiative was in the spirit of all Croatian
policies, 'and this means a quickening of the process of
reintegrating occupied territories into Croatia's constitutional
and legal order and the prompt finding of a final and just
resolution in Bosnia-Herzegovina'.
'Such a meeting will require thorough preparation. President
Tudjman will attend that meeting, if he's invited, and providing
the meeting is organized and thoroughly prepared,' Granic said.
'If such a meeting eventuates, it is likely to lead to the
mutual recognition of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and
Croatia, as this is one of the preconditions of the meeting as well
as the mutual recognition of all countries emerging from the former
Yugoslavia. This is another reason the Republic of Croatia has an
interest in attending this meeting,' he said.
