ZAGREB, Feb 24 (Hina) - Head of the Croatian Government Office for
Refugees, Minister Adalbert Rebic, and head of the UNHCR Mission,
Jacques Mouchet, today signed an agreement on UNHCR participation
in aid for refugees accommodated in private homes, the Government
Office said today.
UNHCR participation in the total refugee expenditure this year
will drop to 4.5 percent from last year's nine percent.
At Rebic's insistence, Mouchet promised to try and get the
decision reversed.
The pair also discussed new waves of refugees that were
expected from Bosnia.
Rebic said Croatia could not accept more refugees until all
those who came via UNHCR in the past three months went to other
countries, as the Croatian Government had been promised at the
time.
All refugee capacities were full, Rebic said.
He asked the UNHCR to start participating in the care of these
new refugees, which Croatia was currently providing for out of its
own budget.
