ZAGREB, Jan 31 (Hina) - The UN High Commissioner for Refugees
(UNHCR) on Monday evacuated the last remaining Moslem refugees from
the occupied area of Croatia (UNPA Sector North), who refused to
return to Velika Kladusa (western Bosnia), a UNHCR spokeswoman in
Zagreb, Alemka Lisinski, said today.
Around 600 Moslem refugees, who did not respond to Fikret
Abdic's call to return to Velika Kladusa, had been transported to
the refugee centres of Pula and Gasinci by the UNHCR, she added.
UNHCR was now planning to transport them to third countries.
After the collapse of Abdic's self-styled fief in the Bihac
pocket about 30 thousand people left the area seeking shelter in
the occupied Croatian areas. As soon as Abdic restored his
authority, most of them returned to Velika Kladusa.
