ZAGREB, Feb 15 (Hina) - The Croatian President's chief-of-staff
Hrvoje Sarinic today received the chief of the European Commission
delegation within the EU Monitor Mission's, Fulvio Paolini.
The meeting was convened to discuss preparations for a visit
to Zagreb on February 21 by the European Commission for Foreign
Policies Commissioner, Hans van den Broek.
During his visit to Zagreb, Hans van den Broek would meet
President Franjo Tudjman, Prime Minister Nikica Valentic and
Foreign Minister, Mate Granic, Paolini announced after today's
meeting.
He explained that the point of the visit would be to
strengthen 'political and economic' relations between Croatia and
the EU.
As agreed, Hans van den Broek is to discuss with Croatian high
officials Croat and EU relations, Croatia's admission to the PHARE
program and other EU institutions.
His visit is also expected to look at opening an EU Commission
office in Zagreb, the Croatian Office taking part in Brussels
activities from 1992 and 11 out of 15 EU countries having their
embassies in Zagreb.
