LJUBLJANA, Feb 2 (Hina) - The newly-appointed Slovenian Foreign
Minister Zoran Thaler today said his visit to Zagreb tomorrow, as
well as upcoming visits to Budapest and Rome, were important
because they were an attempt to change the course of talks on
certain issues.
"Unfortunately, the public mustn't get their expectations too
high, because things have not reached the stage where an agreement
could be concluded," Thaler told a press conference.
He said these would be brief and working visits aimed at
renewing the existing contacts.
Thaler is to receive delegations of the Slovenian minority
from Italy, Hungary and Austria, as well as representativse of the
Association of Slovenians in Croatia.
The reception of ethnic Slovenians from Croatia was a protocol
novelty because the Croatian-Slovenian border was "as good as any
other," he said.
