ZAGREB, Feb 8 (Hina) - Two German citizens, Frank Leuschner, 24,
and Nadine Hardt, 22, disappeared in Lika County on 30 January
1994, the Croatian Interior Ministry said today.
The couple's friend from Germany, Otto Reiner, reported their
disappearance to Gospic police. He said he was worried as he had
not heard from them for a long time.
Reiner said the couple wanted to tour the Adriatic coast and
visit Gospic. They travelled in a "Mercedes 190" with registration
number KG-L-159.
Gospic police immediately started a search, but so far without
success as the couple had not registered in any place they had
visited.
Reiner told the police that last time the couple had phoned
him was from the northern Adriatic town of Karlobag.
Police found that they had not been seen in Karlobag, assuming
they had gone missing during a recent storm in the area.
