SIBENIK, Feb 6 (Hina) - The Swedish Ambassador to Croatia, Sune
Danielsson, and his wife today visited the central Adriatic city of
Sibenik.
They were received by Sibenik County Prefect Pasko Bubalo and
Mayor Ante Supuk, a statement from the County office said.
Danielsson was particularly interested in the level of
destruction and war-related damage in Sibenik, as well as the
County's economic position.
The party discussed Croatia's decision to terminate the
UNPROFOR mandate with Bubalo explaining that UNPROFOR stood quietly
by and watched as the expulsion of people from UN-protected areas
continued.
Danielsson said he believed that the presence of UNPROFOR was
necessary for the peaceful resolution of the crisis and
continuation of negotiations, the statement concluded.
