ZAGREB, Feb 3 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman today
received in the Presidential Palace the French Ambasador to Zagreb,
Jean Jacques Gaillard, and the Portuguese Ambassador based in
Vienna, Octavio Neto Valerio, a Presidential Office statement said.
On behalf of the European Union and the West European Union,
the two ambassadors presented a demarche of concern about the
situation in Mostar and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
President Tudjman said Croatia and he personally would do
everything to ensure that the Washington accords, the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina and its confederation with Croatia, and the
European administration of Mostar were implemented.
The President added that Croatia could not take responsibility
for individual incidents on the ground.
The President emphasized that all parties were responsible for
the implementation of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its
confederation with Croatia. He called on the international
community to address these issues in an unbiassed manner and to
support Croatia in its efforts to speed up the process of
establishing the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its
confederation with Croatia, the statement concluded.
