VITEZ, Feb 4 (Hina) - The commander of the Croatian Defence Council
(HVO) in the Vitez area, Brigadier Filip Filipovic, Saturday sent a
letter with an initiative to the Bosnian Army's 3rd Corps in Zenica
and the British UN battalion in Nova Bila, proposing a decrease in
the number of both HVO and Bosnian Army soldiers at check-points
between Zenica and Doboj, central Bosnia.
Brigadier Filipovic also proposed that the number of UN troops
at the check-points could be lessened and their presence reduced
from round-the-clock surveillance to 12 hours, the HABENA Herzeg-
Bosnian news agency said.
The Vitez-based HVO headquarters said this move would make it
possible that more HVO and Bosnian Army soldiers could be deployed
on fronts against the Serb aggressors, according to HABENA.
