GENEVA, Jan 24 (Hina) - UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali
today met his aides, Yasushi Akashi, Thorvald Stoltenberg and Kofi
Ann, for talks on the Bosnia peace process under the aegis of the
five-power Contact Group and the situation in Croatia.
Ghali's spokeswoman, Therese Gastaut, told a Geneva press
conference that the talks concentrated on political and strategic
implications of the withdrawal of UN peace-keepers from Croatia.
They also considered how Croatia's decision to end the UN
mandate could reflect on the UN mission in neighbouring Bosnia.
The meeting also included the outgoing commanders of the UN
Protection Force in former Yugoslavia and Bosnia, Bertrand de
Lapresle and Michael Rose, and their successors, Bernard Janvier
and Rupert Smith.
