MOSTAR, Dec 16 (Hina) - Mayor of Mostar, Ivan Prskalo, and his
deputy, Safet Orucevic, officially opened the rebuilt bridge "Hasan
Brkic, by cutting the ribbon together.
The bridge, which had been pulled down during the war, is
located near 'Bulevar' Street that separates eastern and western

authorities.
The rebuilding of the bridge, worth some 6 million German
marks, was financed by the European Union, and represented the
biggest project of EU in this southern town in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The opening ceremony was attended by over a thousand citizens,
most of who came from eastern Mostar.
Addressing the gathered people and guests, including a former
EU Administrator of Mostar, Hans Koschnik who had been greeted by a
burst of applause, the EU Special Envoy in Mostar, Martin Garrod,
said it was the seventh bridge to have been built by EU
