SARAJEVO, 12 Nov (Hina) - Members of the Bosnian Presidency will
demand at the Paris conference on the implementation of Bosnia
peace agreement that the mandate of the international community in
the country be extended, a Presidency member Kresimir Zubak told
reporters in Sarajevo Tuesday. #L#
Commenting on the Presidency's joint platform for the Paris
conference, which was adopted at today's session, Zubak said that
international military and police forces as well as the office of
the high representative for the implementation of the peace
agreement had to remain in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
'There is some talk about a period of two years, but the Croat
side holds that the presence of those forces should last a year,
after which the situation and a possible new extension of their
mandate would be considered', Zubak said.
There was no agreement on the establishment of the Bosnian
Council of Ministers at today's session, because the Serbs refused
the solution proposed by the Croat and Muslim sides and Bildt's
office. According to that proposal, the Council of Ministers should
have a chairman and five ministers. The Serb Presidency member
Momcilo Krajisnik and the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State John
Kornblum discussed the proposal for three and a half hours
yesterday.
However, at today's session of the Presidency, Krajisnik said
he could only accept four ministers and a chairman.
