SARAJEVO, Sept 26 (Hina) - A conference on the training and
reorganization of police forces in Bosnia-Herzegovina would take
place in Dublin on 28 September, UN spokesman Aleksandar Ivanko
said in Sarajevo on Thursday.
Representatives from 42 countries and international
organizations would take part in the conference, as well as Bosnian
Federation Interior Minister Avdo Hebib, his deputy Jozo Leutar and
Serb entity Interior Minister Dragan Kijac, Ivanko said.
The meeting will be presided by UN vice-secretary for peace
operations Kofi Annan and international community high
representative for the implementation of the peace agreement Carl
Bildt.
According to Ivanko, the international community would provide
USD 98.8 million to equip and train police in BH during the next
two years.
The international police operating in BH as part of the UN
mission would be authorized to either acknowledge or refuse the
admission of any policeman into the new reorganized police forces,
Ivanko said, stressing that special attention would be paid to the
fact that not one person suspected of war crimes or human rights
violation be admitted.
