VITEZ, Aug 4 (Hina) Several thousands of Bosnian Croats from
central Bosnia on Sunday staged a protest in Vitez against
continuous pressure from the international community and the
federal partner, which culminated with indictments from the
International Crimes Tribunal in The Hague and the electoral
regulations for the upcoming September elections. #L#
They described the electoral law and regulations as
unacceptable because it opened possibilities of demographic changes
in the municipalities, as well as the legalization of conquering
what Croats defended with their bllod, they said.
The main disputable point of the regulations was that refugees
may vote in municipalities where they planned to live in the
future, so a part of Moslem voters exiled by the Serb aggressor
could vote to continue their life in central Bosnian and some
Bosnian Croat municipalities, they said, adding that in this way,
they could win the elections and part of the territory in an
undemocratic way.
The protest's conclusions will be forwarded to all relevant
factors of the international community, Bosnian Federation and
Croatia.
In conclusion, they requested that the electoral law be
changed, that the indictments against central Bosnian Croats be
annulled, they also requested a new organization of the
municipalities and the return of all refugees and displaced persons
to their homes.
