He said that it was certain that the elections in Bosnia would
take place on 14 September, adding that the final deadline had been
set in Dayton and had to be respected.
Holding of the elections could only be compromised by new
conflicts, Frowick told a news conference in Sarajevo.
The last session of the Federation Forum which had taken place
in Sarajevo two days ago, had shown possibilities of resolving the
rest of problems in the Bosnian Federation, he said.
Frowick confirmed that some 150,000 Bosnian refugees who were
living abroad had announced to vote in the elections, and some
600,000 refugees with the right to vote had expressed interest for
the possibilities and conditions of voting.
OSCE representatives visited 4,300 locations where polling
stations would be set up.
It had been estimated that some of these locations were very
dangerous, so the final number of polling stations would be
lessened to 4,000, Frowick said.
Some 1,300 international monitors will arrive in Bosnia-
Herzegovina three weeks before the beginning of elections.
