ZAGREB, August 1 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Thursday received the European Union three-man group of ambassadors
accredited to Croatia, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a
statement.
Granic informed the ambassadors of the meeting between
Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and the vice-president of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina Ejup Ganic and of the session of
the Defense and National Security Council, which discussed the
situation in the Bosnian Federation.
The Croatian Foreign Minister acquainted the ambassadors with
the steps Croatia was undertaking in order to find a compromising
solution as regarded the functioning of the city administration in
Mostar after the elections for the City Council and until a final
verdict of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
The initiative on the transformation of the Croatian Republic
of Herzeg Bosnia into organs of the Federation was evaluated
positively, and Granic pointed out the necessity to strengthen the
institutions of the Federation and the organs of cantonal
authorities, as well as the transfer of authority from the
government of Bosnia-Herzegovina to the government of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The ambassadors were also informed of the talks President
Tudjman held with his Bosnian counterpart Alija Izetbegovic, who
agreed that problems between Croats and Bosniacs must be solved
with an open dialogue between representatives of the two peoples,
within the Federation Forum and the Council for Cooperation of the
Republic of Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Bosnian Federation.
