SARAJEVO, July 25 (Hina) - The railway line between Sarajevo and
the southwestern town of Mostar will reopen on Tuesday for the
first time after the war, a Bosnian railway official said on
Thursday.
A train is scheduled to set out from Sarajevo at 10.00 hours
and is expected in Mostar three and a half hours later, the
Bosnian Croat and Moslem news agencies Habena and B-H Press
quoted the official as telling a news conference in Sarajevo.
This is the first stretch of the railway between Sarajevo
and the southern Croatian port of Ploce to be formally opened, he
said.
The Bosnian Railways company has sent invitations to Bosnian
Presidency members, government officials, foreign diplomats and
businessmen to come for the ride. About 250 passengers are
expected to be on the train.
