MOSTAR, July 10 (Hina) - Bosnian Croat members of Mostar election
commissions on Wednesday sent an open letter to the EU
administrator of the city, Ricardo Perez Casado, complaining that
presidents of the election commissions had been under pressure to
publish results of the June 30 municipal elections.
Expressing their "dissatisfaction and concern", they said
they would not agree to the publishing of election results "until
irregularities have been removed." "We distance ourselves from
all possible consequences if the election results are made public
without our approval," the letter said.
Citing irregularities, they said that the election law was
violated by when a list of candidates was accepted after a
registration deadline, that a City Election Commission decision
to nullify election results from Bonn was overruled, that a bag
with ballots from the Bern polling station was lost.
The letter also mentioned the case of an election commission
member who was at the same time an election candidate and cases
of one person voting at several polling stations.
