MOSTAR, July 7 (Hina) - Last night's decision by the EU ombudsman
not to nullify election results from the Bonn polling station
"has created a kind of legal insecurity and can be very
dangerous," the president of the Mostar branch of the Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) party, Mile Puljic, told Mostar radio on
Sunday.
EU ombudsman Constantin Zepos had first delayed Mostar
elections, then he accepted one list of candidates after the
registration deadline and now he overruled a decision by the
municipal election commission, undermining its authority, he
said.
"We are disappointed with Zepos's understanding of
professional ethics and legal norms, and he has certainly done
great damage to the legal system. Our party has not even been
informed of his decision," Puljic was quoted as saying by the
Bosnian Croat news agency Habena.
