PRISTINA, 5 July (Hina) - The leader of Kosovo Albanians and
president of the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova, on
Friday strongly condemned a new wave of Serbian repression in
Kosovo.
This week, Rugova said, police burst into headquarters of his
party in five Kosovo towns while several party activists were
called in for questioning.
Rugova called on the Serbian authorities to prevent repression
and turn to dialogue. At the same time, he warned the international
community to take necessary measures because of the situation in
Kosovo which was growing more tense every day.
Exactly five years ago, the Serbian authorities suspended
radio and television programs in the Albanian language, Rugova
said.
