SARAJEVO, June 22 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb authorities have
introduced visa requirements for the Croat and Moslem citizens of
Yugoslavia when entering Serb-controlled territory in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
UNHCR spokesman Kris Janowski said in Sarajevo on Saturday
that the UNHCR had been informed that Croats and Moslems were
required to have visas to enter the Bosnian Serb entity. Visas
would be issued by "Republika Srpska" offices in Belgrade and
Podgorica, he added.
As of Thursday, non-Serb men aged between 16 and 60 had not
been allowed into the Bosnian Serb entity. Janowski described
such a decision as absurd and unacceptable.
The UNHCR had failed to reach Serb authorities at Pale to
explain the move, the spokesman said, adding that there had been
no official response from the Belgrade government.
Janowski recalled that restrictions on movement across Serb-
held territory had existed before but that such measures had
never been published officially.
It was not clear how Bosnian Serb authorities would treat
Croats and Moslems who were not Yugoslav citizens.
