FLORENCE, June 14 (Hina) - Croatia would arrest every person on its
territory indicted for war crimes by the Hague-based International
Criminal Tribunal, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic told a
press conference in Florence, Italy, on Friday.
Commenting a statement by the president of the International
Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, Antonio Cassese, which
said that sources showed that Dario Kordic, a Bosnian Croat leader
and suspect of the Criminal Tribunal, often entered Croatia, Granic
said that this might have been the case before the Croatian
parliament passed the Constitutional Act on Cooperation with the
International Criminal Tribunal.
"The arrest of Zlatko Aleksovski is the best confirmation of
Croatia's cooperation with the Hague tribunal", Granic said.
He said that it was impermissible to put Bosnian Serbs Radovan
Karadzic and Ratko Mladic on the same level with Bosnian Croats
Dario Kordic and Ivica Rajic. Karadzic and Mladic had committed
aggression on Bosnia-Herzegovina and were still in power, which was
not the case with Kordic and Rajic, Granic said.
He concluded by saying that Croatia expected that crimes
against Croats in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina would be indicted
too, since three indicted Serbs, Mrksic, Radic and Sljivancanin,
were not the only ones to have committed crimes against Croats.
