ZAGREB, June 19 (Hina) - "There is no recession in Croatia and
there will be none," Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa said
during a session of the Croatian Parliament House of
Representatives on Wednesday.
"Croatia is running no risk of catastrophe. All relevant
indicators point to the fact that Croatia will have an economic
growth from 5 to 7 percent this year," Matesa answering a question
from Marin Jurjevic, Social Democratic Party (SDP) about whether he
agreed with some assessments that recession would increase in the
next half a year, considering some analyses on negative trends of
industrial production, the decrease in production, export, number
of employers and so on.
Such statements were "catastrophic accounts" of a group of
people, even some economists, "who do not believe in what we are
doing, but believe in what they were doing 20 years ago, and do not
believe the statistics."
