ZAGREB, June 7 (Hina) - President of the Zagreb City Assembly,
Zdravko Tomac, on Friday received advisors to British Premier John
Major, Fittal and Filbiy, who accompanied an official of the
British Embassy in Zagreb, a statement from the City Assembly said.
They held talks on the current situation on Croatia's
political scene, especially the "Zagreb situation", the forthcoming
elections in Croatia and Croatia's admission into the Council of
Europe.
Tomac particularly explained the uniform stance of everybody
in Croatia that no autonomy in eastern Slavonia must be allowed.
Stressing the importance of an immediate admission of Croatia
into the Council of Europe, Tomac said that it was one of the basic
preconditions for an undisturbed development of democracy in
Croatia, which could be of common European interest too.
