CROATIAN PRESIDENT SAYS GENEVA TALKS VERY SUCCESSFUL

GENEVA, June 2 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman described as "very successful" day-long talks in Geneva on Sunday on further implementation of the Dayton peace agreement in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Commenting on bilateral talks with presidents Alija Izetbegovic of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kresimir Zubak of the Bosnian Federation, Tudjman said that they reached important agreements on strengthening the Croat-Moslem Federation. These included an agreement on the civilian command and a full agreement on the setup of the Federation army, he added. "In talks with the American and Bosnian delegation, perhaps the most important was a full agreement on a defence law," Tudjman said. Commenting on talks with Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, Tudjman said that they agreed to step up the process of normalizing relations between Croatia and Yugoslavia. The meeting with US Secretary of State Warren Christopher focused on the promotion of the peace process in Bosnia- Herzegovina and the further development of bilateral cooperation between Croatia and the United States.
