U.N. POLICE REPORT GROWING NUMBER OF INCIDENTS IN SARAJEVO SUBURBS

SUBURBS $ SARAJEVO, May 31 (Hina) - The International Police Task Force on Friday called on Bosnian Federation authorities to take resolute action to prevent a growing number of robberies and the intimidation of the Serb population in Sarajevo suburbs. UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko told a press conference in Sarajevo that the UN police had recorded 70 cases of intimidation, 400 cases of property seizure and 37 cases of expulsions of Serbs who remained in the Sarajevo suburbs after they had reverted to Moslem-Croat Federation control under the Dayton peace agreement. The UN police blamed the incidents on Moslem refugees from eastern Bosnia and on organized gangs of thugs coming to Sarajevo from Visoko, Zenica and Tarcin.
