BELGRADE, 7 May (Hina) - Local Serb leader Goran Hadzic did not
attend today's ceremonial reopening of the Zagreb-Belgrade
motorway in E. Slavonia because he had been turned back by
members of the UNTAES Jordanian battalion who safeguarded access
routes to the sight, reported TV station Studio B Tuesday night.
According to a statement issued by Hadzic's office in
Vukovar, the incident was caused by "a misunderstanding between
Office of the Transitional Administrator for E. Slavonia, Baranja
and W. Srijem, Jacques Klein, and the command of the Jordanian
battalion," said Studio B. Klein's office allegedly failed to
notify Jordanian battalion about the arrival of a Serb delegation
headed by Goran Hadzic. Hadzic announced he would file a
complaint with UNTAES command and Jacques Klein, reported Studio
B.
