SARAJEVO, April 27 (Hina) - Dutch Foreign Minister Hans Van
Mierlo said in Sarajevo on Saturday that his country would
continue providing assistance for the reconstruction of Bosnia-
Herzegovina to help its people preserve the idea of
multiethnicity.
It is also in our interest that Bosnia-Herzegovina and its
government succeed in those efforts and that the whole country
get out of the misery caused by war, Van Mierlo said after talks
with Bosnian Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic.
The Netherlands is the country which has so far provided the
greatest financial aid to Bosnia-Herzegovina in relation to its
gross national product, Prlic said.
Prlic stressed the importance of Dutch support in the
process of Bosnia-Herzegovina's admission to the International
Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
The two ministers agreed that a large group of Dutch
business people would visit Bosnia-Herzegovina soon to assess
possibilities of involvement in reconstruction projects.
Van Mierlo also discussed with senior Bosnian government
officials the process of implementing the Dayton peace agreement.
In the next two days, Van Mierlo would visit Dutch troops
serving in the NATO-led peace implementation force in the
country.
