ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - The president of the Serbian People's
Party (SNS), Milan Djukic, sent a letter to Croatian President
Franjo Tudjman on Monday asking him "to grant amnesty to all
detained and already processed citizens of Serbian nationality
suspected or accused of armed rebellion against Croatia" on the
occasion of Croatian Statehood Day on May 30.
Djukic said that such an act would contribute to restoration
of mutual confidence necessary for the return of Serb refugess to
Croatia and of Croatian displaced persons to their homes in the
Eastern Slavonia region after its peaceful reintegration.
